Stand Up and Work Challenge: Day 10

It’s Day 10 of your 28-day transition to a standing desk.

And today’s assignment is…

Stand for 120 minutes. That’s right, a full two hours, or 25 percent of your workday. Those small daily changes are really starting to add up!

How’d it go?

Leave a comment below when you finish your allotted standing time for the day.

Anything goes here. (Well, within reason.)

This challenge will help you make the transition to a standing desk, but only if you participate every day. If you’re ready to make the switch, drop your email address in the box below.

  • Made it through OK today. I’m noticing that my feet seem to hurt a bit when I first start standing, and after a while the ache subsides. I’ll have to see if that’s a consistent pattern.

  • I’m running behind due to some health issues, got to catch up!

  • Today was ok. Good even. starting to feel like this will work out.

  • Went really well today.

  • I had a busy Friday and had to skip it (though I had plenty of running around), so I was worried about today. It went better than expected, though I had to sit for 5 minutes about halfway through before finishing. I’m kind of surprised it has progressed with straight time, not standing twice a day for an hour+ each time. That seems to me like it might be an easier transition.

  • Finally got back to this today. 120 minutes was no problem.

  • Feet are swelling some, today. That’s new! Probably not good, but not like alarmingly swollen.

  • No problem….did go and get coffee and stretched, which loosened up the hips

  • I don’t know why but two hours was a breeze… the other times were difficult… go figure!

    • Same for me. I even missed yesterday but today’s 120 was relatively easy. Only a little back fatigue at the start. Um, also, has anyone else experienced that standing makes one more… regular? I’ve had to go to the toilet a few times more than usual.

  • I don’t suppose we’re allowed to break this up, huh? Cuz I started at 11, went to lunch and then stood from 1-2.

And for all of you whose feet hurt, make sure that you alternate standing on each foot like a flamingo for a minute or two every once in awhile. It’s also a good idea to get a little box or something to put one foot up on (Channel your inner Captain Morgan)…Just important to keep moving around slightly.
