Stand Up and Work Challenge: Day 20

Congrats! You’ve made it to the end of the four-week Stand Up and Work Challenge.

By making gradual daily changes, you’ve established standing as a normal part of your work routine, and you’ve developed the ability to spend half of your day on your feet.

Well done.

Here’s your final assignment …

Stand for 240 minutes.

How’d the challenge go?

Leave a comment below when you finish your allotted standing time for the day.

Did you keep up? Was the pace too slow? Did you drop out? If so, why?

Not signed up for the challenge yet?

This challenge will help you make the transition to a standing desk, but only if you participate every day. If you’re ready to make the switch, drop your email address in the box below.

  • Whew, made it through! This worked out well for me. I haven’t yet reached the point where I can stand for four hours without getting a little stiff, but the last time I tried a standing desk, I was only able to last for about two hours.

Now that I’m done with timing duration standing sessions, I’ plan to stand all morning, then grab my barstool for the afternoon.

I tried wearing running shoes today, and I didn’t find that it made much of a difference over going barefoot on my soft carpet or using my yoga mat on a hard surface. I’ll have to experiment with some anti-fatigue mats and see whether they make a difference.

  • 28 Days just flew by!!

Now that i have stuck it out the 28 days. I’m ordering a matt to stand on, and putting a new desk setup together. There is some leg pain today, But all in all it has worked out better then i could have hoped. I find that getting in and standing from the outset works best, and not to be afraid to sit when you need to. I will sit to read mail, or when things are printing. Standing and working as become second nature. who’d have thought?

  • shifting around helps. and only an hour at a time. Takes some getting used to – but a good thing!
